The Celtics’ chance of avoiding the play-in was ended last night with their second loss in a row to Miami. Despite this, Kemba Walker still managed to shine.

Walker scored 36 points to go along with seven rebounds and four assists. He shot 14-27 from the field (51.9%) and 4-11 (36.4%) from deep. This marked Walker’s fourth 30-point game in his last six.

His season got off to a rocky start, but things have been trending upwards. Since the All-Star break, Walker’s numbers returned to around his career averages. In the month of May, he’s putting up 29.8 points a night on roughly 51-46-82 shooting splits. Boston could finally be getting the All-Star they’ve wanted all year long.

Walker will sit in tonight’s game vs the Cavaliers as a part of the injury management plan Boston put in place since his return. He has not played on night two of back-to-backs all season. The Celtics tip-off against the Cavs at 8:00 p.m. (EST) on NBC Sports Boston.
