The Celtics dominated the Washington Wizards last night, winning 118-100 in the first-ever NBA play-in game. Jayson Tatum led the way for the C’s and proved once again that his leadership style works just fine.

Tatum scored a whopping 50 points on the night. He also added eight rebounds and four assists to his total. Tatum shot 14-32 from the field and 5-12 from three-point range. The two-time All-Star managed to get to the free-throw line 17 times as well, knocking down all 17 of them. Tatum also contributed on the defensive end with a steal and two blocks.

Kemba Walker (29 PTS) helped out in the scoring column, but no one else on the team put up more than 12 points. Tatum’s one-man show lifted the Celtics over the Wizards in dominant fashion. Tatum scored more points than Bradley Beal (22) and Russell Westbrook (20 combined). An all-time performance from Boston’s leader.

With the win, the Celtics clinched the seven-seed in this year’s NBA Playoffs. They now advance to take on the Brooklyn Nets in round one. Game one of that series tips off this Saturday, May 22.
