The Celtics lost a tough one to the Brooklyn Nets last night, 109-104. With Jaylen Brown, Kemba Walker, and Robert Williams out, it was Jayson Tatum who took charge in the scoring column.

Tatum dropped 38 points to go along with 10 rebounds and four assists. He shot 14-27 from the field and 6-12 from deep. However, his two missed free throws in the final moments ended up being costly. He finished 4-7 from the free-throw line.

In the two games prior to this one, Tatum has been struggling. He shot a combined 6-34 from the field in the two games before last night’s battle in Brooklyn. With Walker and Brown sidelined, he had to break his slump and he did just that. Unfortunately, it just was not enough to get the win.

Boston now lies 1.5 games out of the four seed in the East. They will have a chance to get back on track when they take on the Charlotte Hornets this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. (EST) on ESPN.
