Jabari Parker, Tremont Waters Step Up, Almost Lead C’s to Comeback vs Knicks
Boston wrapped up their regular season last night with a 96-92 loss vs the New York Knicks. The Celtics rested most of their key players, so the reserves had to step up. Jabari Parker and Tremont Waters did just that.
Parker finished the night with 18 points, leading the Celtics in scoring. He also added seven rebounds and two assists to his totals. Parker shot 6-10 from the field and 1-3 from deep. His day was highlighted by a nine-point third quarter that helped the C’s climb their way back from a 21-point deficit.
Waters also provided some much-needed offense, scoring a career-high 17 points. He dropped 15 points the night prior vs Minnesota but managed to set a new personal best once again. The sophomore point guard grabbed five rebounds and dished out five dimes as well. He shot 7-13 from the field and 3-8 from three.
The Celtics ended the season 36-36 and will take on the Washington Wizards in the play-in tomorrow. The game is set to tip-off at 9:00 p.m. (EST).
