In an effort to gain their second win in a row, the Celtics overcame an 18 point lead to deliver a 111-94 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Newcomer Luke Kornet definitely left his mark on this one.
The Celtics were looking at a possible blowout at times where they trailed. They ended up fighting back, going on a large run later in the game, which would present Kornet with opportunity. Kornet played big minutes in the fourth quarter. He hit two back-to-back 3-pointers giving the Celtics the lead and a little bit of a cushion. This lead to an offensive downpour allowing the C’s to run away with the game.
Kornet finished his debut with the C’s, scoring 8 points and 5 rebounds in only 13 minutes of action. After being acquired through the trade deadline, Luke has shown that he could be a contributor offensively moving forward. It is said that first impressions are impactful, and Kornet made a hell of an impression on Boston fans.
The Celtics will look to carry the momentum of their last two wins into Monday’s matchup with the New Orleans Pelicans at 7:30 EST on NBATV.
